All Abilities.

AFL BARWON launched the inaugural All-Abilities Football League in 2023.

The league provides an environment that promotes fitness, fun, friendship and a sense of belonging through participation in Australian Rules Football, enhancing life skills and developing self-esteem, confidence and improved health for its participants.

The Geelong Dragons were established in 2018, with one team participating within the Western Country Conference. In 2019, the program grew to 2 teams with one participating in the Western Country Conference and the other participating in a Metropolitan Division. From 2020, the Geelong Dragons had over 70 players within the squad, the teams played the entirety of their games within Metro Divisions.

The AFL Barwon program aimed to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and community for more than 100 people of differing abilities playing football in the greater Geelong region. A fantastic season in 2023, was had by all participating clubs, their families and friends.
